Common Epson printer issues
Detailed step-by-step solutions for the most frequent Epson printer problems.
The "Service Required" message typically means the waste ink pad is full or the printer has detected a hardware fault. Here is how to address it:
- 1Download and install the Epson Adjustment Program (also called the Epson Reset Utility) for your specific model from a trusted source.
- 2Run the utility and select "Waste Ink Pad Counter" → click "Check" to see the current counter value.
- 3If the counter is at or near 100%, click "Initialization" to reset it.
- 4Power off the printer, wait 30 seconds, then power back on — the error should be cleared.
- 5Note: resetting the counter does not replace the physical pad. If the pad is physically saturated, it should be replaced or the printer serviced.
- 6For models like ET-2750 or L3150, Epson offers an official pad replacement service.
